What’s Up?
Hey, what’s up? I’m up early today so I’ll do some writing before I get to my projects. So far this site doesn’t seem to be as big of a hit as I hoped it would be. It does take time for sites to get popular so maybe it will do better as time goes on. I think some of it though is that people don’t know how to use this site to communicate with family and friends. But then I have to say I’m not totally sure if I have it set up properly or in the correct order. Everything so far has just been random and when it comes to a blog, which is basically what this is, I don’t necessarily think there is a set pattern. You just create new pages if there is something different you want to talk about and you post comments about what has been written.
So, if you want to write about something just go for it. It’s just as easy as writing a letter to a friend. One thing, you do have to register first. I have it set up that way to keep just anyone and everyone on the net from abusing the site. But once you are registered you can write about anything you want and create you own photo albums in the Gallery. I’m finding that this Photo Gallery is the best one I have ever used. You know how on most sites you are limited to how many photos you can upload plus you are limited to sizes and other settings? Well, with this gallery there is a program you can download called Gallery Remote. Once it is installed on your computer you can create your albums from there. Then you can add your photos directly from your folders, name the photos, add detailed descriptions plus there are other options. Once you are satisfied with you albums you click the upload link and your albums are automatically added to the Gallery. If you later decide to want to make changes like adding or removing photos, open your Gallery Remote program and it’s easy as can be.
So much for that. On another topic for those that are interested in knowing, Mom, Sandy and I went to Wisconsin in July. We had a pretty good trip except the time went too fast for me. We were there for 3 days which isn’t enough time to even start visiting old friends. I hadn’t seen Jim in about 4 years so I spent most of my time with him which mostly involved riding around in a tow truck while he was working. What I really wanted to do was stay on my land in White Lake and try to do some fishing. I’ve had that land for 6 years now and haven’t done nothing to it except make a spot big enough to camp and have a driveway, sort of anyway. It requires the use of a four wheel drive but at least keeps people out when I not there. I tried doing some fishing in Dark Lake which is just a short hike from my land but didn’t have much luck. Mainly because my son has all my fishing poles and all I had were 2 poles I had picked up at Goodwill for $4. I though they would do but they ended up being useless. Oh well, I still enjoyed being by the lake and a few cold beer which is partly what fishing is all about.
Ok, I need to get busy. I have a 1999 Dodge Avenger I’m working on getting ready to sell. Mainly needs some serious cleaning and some other TLC. I’ve added a couple new albums to the gallery, one being photos from our Wisconsin trip. So if you haven’t seen Jim in a while you should check them out. There are some good photos of him with Mom and Sandy. Cya, Denver
Good Morning! Today is Friday and it looks like it is going to rain all day. I woke up at 5:30 and that’s about when the rain started in. That usually makes for good sleeping but for some reason this morning I was wide awake. I did doze off a little after Denise left and finally got up at 9. I really don’t mind the rain except for today maybe. I was planning on getting my Harley out and going to visit mom for a while. Maybe it will break up enough so I can go this afternoon. I could take my Nissan but that’s not a fun a riding my Harley.
Yesterday Melissa had her first day at work, she started working at Polly’s Freeze. It sounds like she had an enjoyable day even though she said it was overwhelming. She only work 3 1/2 hours but it sounds like they tried to she her everything that they do. I’m really glad she got that job which is exactly what she wanted too. One nice thing is that she only has about a 5 minute drive. It turns out that she is also friends with a couple of the girls the others are familiar faces. Polly’s has a tradition of hiring mostly students from Floyd Central High School. It’s kind of hard to get hired on there but once you’re in, you’re in for a long as you want to be. She will be working the rest of the summer and part time once school starts up. They usually close Polly’s down at the end of September and reopen in the Spring. Now that she is working there she will automatically have a job there next spring.
So, that couldn’t have worked out any better for her!
On another subject, as I was laying in bed this morning I got to thinking about me dad. I don’t remember the exact date but it’s been 11 years this month since he passed away. I’m sure he is in a lot of the family’s thoughts, especially mom. It’s amazing how fast time goes by. I know mom misses him more than any can imagine but she has handled living alone quite well. But I guess that’s where having 10 kids and dozens of grandkids is a very good thing. I don’t think there is a day that goes by without someone stopping in and visiting. She does have some health problems that keep her from getting around so one of the girls usually manage to take her something to eat everyday. If they don’t take her something they go cook her something. I guess the main thing that keeps her from doing a lot on her own is her back. She’s getting some pretty bad bends and twists in it so it’s hard for her to stay on her feet for very long. She has scoliosis? plus several disk that are in bad shape. But with that and her heart problems you know what, she gets along and has a pretty good attitude about things most of the time.
OK, just a few bits of gossip before I end this post. I hear Tim is engaged and plans to marry in July. And if I have my info correct, Romelle is engaged too with plans to get married soon. Jim, well I haven’t talked to him for a few months but I hope he has his divorce in process. Kenny had some major surgery on his ankle and is on crutches for about 6 months. And Charlie (out cat) just curled up in my lap wanting to be babied!
So I gotta go, cya
